Colorado and Southern 980 1976

In February 1976, I headed south from Ft. Carson, Colorado to visit the old Rock Island Tucumcari line.  I'm not sure what I shot, but I found this series of pictures taken late in the afternoon on my trip back north.  Featured is C&S 980, a Locotrol Master Unit delivered to Colorado and Southern two years earlier.  The location is on the lonesome stretch of northeast New Mexico on the C&S line from Trinidad, Colorado to Dalhart, Texas.  The 4 shots chronicle the passage of a southbound freight headed for Amarillo, Texas and points south.
